Karen May is a seasoned political organizer and consultant with extensive experience in project development, management, and community engagement. Currently serving as a Political Organizer for SEIU Local 1000 since March 2023, Karen has previously owned and operated Araiza Ventures from 2012 to April 2023, providing strategic planning and fundraising consulting for various clients, including UNITE-HERE Local 11. Karen has coordinated significant campaigns for the California Democratic Party and other organizations, focusing on voter outreach and community development. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Economics from Claremont Graduate University, alongside degrees in Community Economic Development and Art from Southern New Hampshire University and Pomona College, respectively.
