Evan O'Brien has a diverse background in scientific research and development. Evan started their career as a Research Assistant at Sandia National Laboratories in 2010, where they prepared and characterized metal phosphinoborane conjugates and tested the thermal stability of molten nitrate salt blends.
In 2011, Evan joined Berkeley Lab as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they worked until 2013.
From 2013 to 2018, Evan pursued their PHD in Chemistry at Columbia University in the City of New York. Evan conducted extensive research on superatomic crystals and covalent organic framework materials, analyzing structural features and phase transitions using various instruments.
In 2019, Evan joined Seer as an Associate Scientist, and quickly progressed to the roles of Associate Scientist II and Scientist I. In their most recent role as Scientist III starting in April 2022, they synthesized and coated nanoparticles, developed a workflow for assessing nanoparticle performance, and led technology transfer and scale-up processes.
Evan O'Brien obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in the years 2009 to 2011. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemistry at Columbia University from 2013 to 2018.
