Farbod H Foomany

Sr. Product Architect, Security Research at Security Compass

Farbod H Foomany has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Starting in 2003, they worked as a (Secure) Developer and Security Analyst for various companies until 2008. In 2011, they joined Ryerson University as a Researcher, specifically focusing on biomedical signal and image processing, including signal processing of ECG signals and using current density imaging and magnetic resonance imaging for studying heart arrhythmias. Farbod then joined Security Compass in 2014 as a Sr. Product Architect, Security Research, where they are currently working.

Farbod H Foomany obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biometrics from The University of Huddersfield, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that, they studied Elect. Eng. at Sharif University of Technology. In addition to their degrees, Farbod has obtained several certifications, including the Stanford Advanced Security Program from Stanford University in January 2023 and the Stanford Medical Statistics Certificate from Stanford University in January 2022. Farbod also obtained certifications in Digital Product Management Specialization from Darden School of Business | Coursera in May 2021, Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) from Cloud Security Alliance in March 2021, and Data Science and Big Data Analytics from MIT xPRO in March 2021. Other certifications include Regulatory Compliance Specialization (4 Courses) from University of Pennsylvania - Coursera in January 2021, Executive Data Science Specialization (Johns Hopkins University, 5 Courses) from Coursera Course Certificates in September 2020, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in March 2018, Secure Software Practitioner – Mobile from (ISC)² in August 2016, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance in April 2018, and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum Alliance in February 2020. Farbod also completed two learning paths, one on becoming a GDPR and Data Privacy Expert (6 Courses) and the other on becoming an Ethical Hacker (18 courses) from LinkedIn Learning, although the exact completion dates are not provided.
