Paul Pols is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in various capacities. Currently serving as the Lead for Ransomware Resilience at Secura since March 2022, Paul also teaches at Leiden University’s Cyber Security Academy, focusing on technical aspects such as attack lifecycle models. From September 2018 to March 2022, Paul acted as Principal Advisor for the Investigatory Powers Commission in the Netherlands, reviewing the application of special powers by intelligence services. Previously, Paul held several roles at Fox-IT, culminating as Principal Security Expert, where leadership spanned ethical hacking teams and threat assessments. Paul began a prominent writing career with over 500 articles on iOS security and jailbreaking while contributing to various publications, and has a strong academic background in law and cybersecurity from esteemed institutions including Leiden University and Utrecht University.
