Robert Olivia

Co-principal Librarian at Seattle Symphony

Robert Olivia has extensive experience in music librarianship, having held various positions at prestigious institutions. Since January 2009, Robert has served as Supervisor and Mentor for the Directed Fieldwork Program at the University of Washington, while also working as a Music Librarian for Red Light Management since August 2012. Robert's tenure at the Seattle Symphony includes roles as Co-Principal Librarian and Associate Librarian, beginning in 2005. Additional roles encompass membership in the Screen Actors Guild and Recording Musicians Association, as well as serving as Acting Assistant Librarian for the New York Philharmonic in late 2005. Other past positions include Music Preparation Liaison at Joann Kane Music Service, Orchestra Librarian for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Librarian for the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. Robert’s roots in music began with a BM in Music from Wilkes University, followed by an MM in Clarinet Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.
