Alex Caulfield has a strong background in communications and media relations, with extensive experience in the sports industry. Alex currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Communications & Broadcasting at Seattle Sounders FC, where they oversee the club's broadcasting landscape and full communications ecosystem. Prior to this role, Caulfield served as the Senior Vice President, Communications, and was promoted to this position in the 2019 offseason. In both roles, they played a key role in devising and implementing internal and external communication strategies to support the club's objectives. Before joining the Sounders, Caulfield led the Communications Department at Columbus Crew, where they managed team media relations, broadcast operations, and digital content. Alex also worked at FOX Sports as the Manager of PR & Communications for FOX Soccer media properties. Caulfield's experience also includes roles as the Manager of Media Relations at D.C. United and the Director of Public Relations & Marketing at Seattle Wolves FC. Additionally, they gained experience as a staff contributor and freelance in various media affiliates. Caulfield's expertise and leadership in communications have been recognized with awards, including the 2009 USL-PDL Media Department of the Year Award.
Alex Caulfield attended Kenyon College from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History & Humanities. Following that, from 2008 to 2009, Alex pursued a Master of Arts degree in Sports Administration at Seattle University.
