Coleen Burgess has a diverse work experience. Coleen is currently working as the Director of Finance at Seaport Hotel since May 2022. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at Harvard University, including Assistant Director for Finance & Administration for the Harvard University Police Dept, Director Of Administrative Services at the Derek Bok Center for Teaching & Learning, and Interim Department Administrator at the same center. Coleen also served as the Administration and Operations Support Services Manager and Chief of Staff/Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the Harvard Library. Before joining Harvard, Coleen worked as a Professional Organizer at Organizing Boston and as the Director of Special Events & Projects at the University of Massachusetts. Coleen also gained experience as the President of Mass Strategy Group and as the Finance Director at the Shannon O'Brien Committee for Governor of MA. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Division Coordinator at Keyport Life Insurance and as a Salesperson at Emerson Swan.

Coleen Burgess earned their Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1989 to 1993. Coleen later pursued their MBA in Fundraising and Non-Profit Management from UMass Boston, completing it from 2008 to 2011. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Coleen attended Randolph High School from 1985 to 1989.
