Tarun Kumar has extensive experience in the maritime industry. Tarun began their career in 1989 as a Cadet at The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd. Tarun then worked at Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd. from 1995 to 2001, where they held positions as Captain and Chief Officer. In 2002, they joined OMI, serving as Captain until 2004. From 2004 to 2007, they worked at OMI / OMCI as an Operations Manager. Tarun then joined Teekay Shipping in 2007 as a General Manager until 2009. In 2009, they became the Managing Director at Scorpio Marine Management (I) Pvt. Ltd. Tarun has also held roles at Scorpio Tankers Inc (STNG) and Scorpio Bulkers Inc (SALT) as Vice President of Vessel Operations starting in 2016. Their experience encompasses a range of leadership and operational positions within the maritime industry.

Tarun Kumar obtained an HND Nautical Science degree in Maritime Studies from the School of Maritime Operations - Fleetwood between the years 2000 and 2001.
