Sarah Rapisardo began their work experience in 2001 as a Biology Teacher at Sumter High. From 2003 to 2004, they worked as a Research Technician at UNC-Chapel Hill, Dept of Biology. In 2010, they became an ABMG Postdoctoral Fellow in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics at Duke University, where they also later served as a Graduate Student from 2004 to 2010. Sarah then held various roles at Duke University, including Assistant Director of Clinical Cytogenetics and Molecular Diagnostics, Assistant Director of Molecular Diagnostics at Duke University Health System, and Assistant Professor of Pathology. Their most recent position is Director of Laboratory Operations at Scipher Medicine starting from September 2020.
Sarah Rapisardo holds a PhD in Molecular Cancer Biology from Duke University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a BA in Biology and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing their studies from 1997 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Sarah obtained certifications in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Cytogenetics from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in September 2013.
