Todd Hughes has extensive work experience in various technology and research-related roles. Todd is currently serving as the Chief Innovation Officer at Scientific Systems since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Vice President of Technology at BigBear.ai, where they led the corporate Technology Research division and directed the corporate Special Projects division.
Todd also worked at CACI International Inc, where they served as the Technical Director, Strategic Projects and Initiatives, and later as the Chief Technology Officer, Critical Insight Solutions. Todd played a pivotal role in driving growth and establishing collaborations within the corporation. Additionally, they were responsible for all technology and business development efforts for DARPA.
Earlier in their career, Todd served as the Chief Technology Officer at Next Century Corporation, where they built the software research and development line of business and earned recognition for expertise in AI, Machine Learning, and Applied Behavioral Science. Todd also worked at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency as a Program Manager and at Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories as a Technical Manager and Senior Engineer.
Todd's career began as an Ontological Engineer at Cycorp, Inc., where they led the design and development of a vulnerability assessment software tool for computer networks.
Todd Hughes obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from SUNY Geneseo, which they attended from 1990 to 1994. Todd then pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy between 1994 and 2001.
