Samy Bounoua is currently a co-editor at Mosaïque. Revue des jeunes chercheur.ses en SHS since February 2021 and serves as a member of the editorial board. At Sciences Po Lille, Samy holds the position of Attaché temporaire d'enseignement et de recherche (ATER) since September 2023, focusing on environmental history and 19th-century history. Additionally, Samy is a doctoral candidate at Université de Lille, researching resistance to pollution in Northern France and Wallonia during the years 1770 to 1870 under the supervision of Philippe Darriulat. Samy has been teaching contemporary history and modern history courses at Université de Lille and previously served as a history-geography and EMC teacher within the French Ministry of National Education from September 2017 to September 2021. Academic qualifications include an Agrégation externe in History and a CAPES externe in History-Geography from the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology, alongside a Master's degree in History.
