Judson Stailey is a Senior Meteorologist at the Science and Technology Corporation (STC) since April 2019, providing part-time support to the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Meteorology (OFCM) with a focus on Space Weather. From October 2017, Judson is classified as a Retired Meteorologist and has been a member of the American Meteorological Society since 1972. Previously, Judson held the position of Lead Meteorologist at NOAA from June 2008 to September 2017, acting as the OFCM Chief Scientist and contributing to interagency coordination efforts in various meteorological domains. Prior roles include Senior Staff Meteorologist supporting Aviation Weather and Multifunction Phased Array Radar efforts, Program Manager at Science Systems and Applications, Inc. managing contracts at NASA, and Weather Officer in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 2002. Judson's academic background includes a Master's degree in Meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Traffic Management from The Ohio State University.
