Michael Thorsland has served in educational leadership roles since 1993, currently holding the position of Superintendent for the School District Of Oconee County since August 2005. Previously, Michael held the role of Assistant Superintendent of Operational Services and served as Principal and Assistant Principal at D. W. Daniel High School, alongside experience as a Math Teacher and Coach at multiple schools including Brookland Cayce High School, R. C. Edwards Junior High School, and D. W. Daniel High School. Michael Thorsland holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education - Math from Clemson University, along with two Doctoral degrees in Educational Administration and Supervision from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of South Carolina.
