John Egan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John is currently working as the Director of Customer Service & Sales at Scanner Master since August 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Founder/Director of FireSmartKids Juvenile Firesetter Intervention & Education Services from 2004 to April 2020. John also worked as an Adjunct Instructor in the Youth Firesetter program at the National Fire Academy during the same period.
In 2017, John briefly worked as a Traffic Safety Education Specialist at AAA Northeast, where they developed expertise in traffic safety and conducted outreach activities to increase public awareness of traffic safety issues.
Before that, they held the position of Property Inspector at JBL Associates from December 2016 to July 2017, where they documented property conditions and identified hazards.
In 2016, John served as the Camp & Safety Coordinator at the Headfirst MLB Sports Camp - Boston Red Sox, ensuring the quality and safety of the camp programs. John also worked as an HBTS worker at Seven Hills Foundation from January 2016 to May 2016, providing behavioral therapy to individuals and support to their families.
In their earlier career, John held the role of Program Director at NRICS Youth Fire Safety Alliance from July 2013 to November 2014.
Prior to transitioning into fire safety education and intervention, John had an extensive career in the fire department. John served as a Lieutenant and Firefighter at the Woonsocket Fire Department from December 1987 to June 2008.
John Egan earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Fire Science/Fire-fighting from the Community College of Rhode Island in 2012. Additionally, they completed a program on Youth Firesetter Intervention & Prevention at the National Fire Academy in 2011. In 2000, they also attended the National Fire Academy for a program in Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist I & II.
