Sumit Gautam is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in investment management and consultancy. As the Portfolio Manager and Founder of Scalar Gauge Fund, LP since 2017, Sumit leads a long-short equity hedge fund. Prior to this, Sumit was a Partner at Hirzel Capital Management from 2012 to 2016, focusing on idea generation and fundamental analysis within a $1.3 billion hedge fund. Sumit served as Vice President at Audax Group from 2008 to 2011, specializing in analysis and due diligence for LBO investments at a private equity fund with approximately $12 billion in assets under management. Earlier roles include Senior Manager at Bain & Company and a marketing position at Force10 Networks, which was acquired by Dell for $700 million. Sumit began a career in management consulting with McKinsey & Company from 2000 to 2002. Educationally, Sumit holds a Master of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
