Scott Timmons currently serves as the Managed Care Bureau Chief at the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services since January 2023. Prior to this role, Timmons had a lengthy tenure at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina from 2002 to January 2023, where responsibilities included Senior Director of Provider Contracting, overseeing network management for the Healthy Blue Medicaid Managed Care Plan. Previous positions at BlueCross BlueShield included Manager of Provider Contracting and roles in provider relations and contracting for BlueChoice HealthPlan. Timmons holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of South Carolina, earned between 1995 and 1999.
