Jaap-Harm Westhuis is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology innovation and product development within the offshore industry. Currently serving as the Technology Innovation & Product Development Director at SBM Offshore since June 2007, Jaap-Harm oversees various innovation management and technology development initiatives. Previous roles at SBM include Group Technology Director, LNG Technical Director, Technology Director, and Engineering Director, showcasing leadership in technology and engineering across multiple product lines. Prior to SBM, Jaap-Harm was a Project Engineer and Expert Engineer Hydrodynamics at GustoMSC, where responsibilities included managing basic design packages for specialized drillships and leading hydrodynamic engineering efforts. Jaap-Harm began a career in research as a PhD student at MARIN, focusing on nonlinear water wave modeling. Educational credentials include a PhD and MSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Twente.
