Lori Taylor

Adjunct Professor at Saybrook University

Lori Taylor is currently the Chair of the Department of Integrative & Functional Nutrition at Saybrook University. Lori has previous experience working as an Onsite Health Educator at Cigna from July 2015 to September 2018. In this position, Lori delivered high-quality engaging presentations on a variety of wellness topics and provided coaching to members around their behavior change to improve health status, reduce health risks and enhance quality of life. Prior to working at Cigna, Lori worked as a Clinical Dietitian and Sustainability Coordinator at Whidbey General Hospital from January 2010 to April 2015. In this role, Lori provided patient-focused, evidence-based clinical nutrition for a dynamic community hospital with specialties in GI, oncology, cardiac, and pediatrics. Lori also brought best practices to Tumor Board, Cancer Committee and Pharmacy and Therapeutics. Lori was a subject matter expert on natural medicine and developed the hospital's Green Team, which was recognized regionally for its efforts. Additionally, Lori was a member of the building committee and was integral in the design of WhidbeyHealth's expansion, leading to a highly energy-efficient building and environmentally beneficial landscape design. Outside of their work at the hospital, Lori was also a community outreach educator and public speaker with a wide community following. Lori served as the relief director of Nutrition Services and had excellent rapport with staff and C-suite.

Lori Taylor has a MA in Education from Stanford University, a MS in Nutrition from Bastyr University, and an AB in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. Lori also has a Certification in Permaculture Design from the Regenerative Design Institute and a Certification in Saybrook Researchers from the CITI Program. Lori is a Registered Dietitian and a Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition.

Lori Taylor reports to Donald Moss, Dean, College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences. They work with Trent Nguyen - Chair, Department of Integrative Social Work, Eric Willmarth - Chair, Department of Applied Psychophysiology, and Devorah Curtis - Chair, Department of Mind-Body Medicine.
