Xiaoran Li

Principal Learning Scientist/psychometrician at Savvas Learning

Xiaoran Li has a diverse work experience in the field of psychometrics and research. They started their career at the Connecticut State Department of Education in 2014 as a Research Analyst Intern. They later joined the University of Connecticut, where they worked as a Research Assistant and Instructor, focusing on HIV intervention/prevention meta-analysis projects. In 2016, they interned at The College Board as a Psychometric Intern.

In 2018, Xiaoran Li joined Adelphi Values as a Sr. Research Associate/Psychometrician, and later became a Psychometrician II. They contributed to various research projects in this role.

Currently, Xiaoran Li is working at Savvas Learning Co (formerly Pearson K12 Learning). They started as a Senior Learning Scientist/Psychometrician and are now serving as the Principal Learning Scientist/Psychometrician. Their work in this position involves applying psychometric principles to develop and evaluate educational assessments.

Xiaoran Li pursued their education in a chronological order. Starting from 2003 to 2007, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Nanjing Normal University. Continuing their educational journey, they attended Nanjing Normal University again from 2007 to 2010 and obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Comparative Literature. Later, they joined the University of Connecticut in 2012 and completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology by 2013. Xiaoran Li further pursued their studies at the University of Connecticut, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology from 2013 to 2018.
