Ashley Grow

Vice President: Safety, Health, Environment & Security at Sasol

Ashley Grow has a diverse work experience in the fields of safety, health, environment, and security. From 2011 to 2020, they worked at Sasol, starting as a Senior Manager for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) for Southern Africa Capital Projects, where they executed HSE strategies and contributed to design and execute technology strategies. Ashley then became the Head of Safety, overseeing safety operations before being promoted to the role of Vice President for Safety, Health, Environment, and Security. In this position, they managed SHE and security for Sasol Gas Sourcing Operations in multiple countries and handled a large number of stakeholders.

Before their time at Sasol, Ashley worked at the International Risk Control Association (IRCA Global) from 2007 to 2011. Ashley served as the HSE Risk and Auditing Technical Manager, investigating high-profile incidents and ensuring compliance with legislative changes. Ashley also worked as a SHEQ Auditor, conducting over 100 audits across various industries.

Ashley's earlier work experiences include a role as a HSE Officer at SHM Engineering in 2005, where they were responsible for safety system management, risk assessments, and hazard identification. Ashley also worked as a HSE Officer at Dream Works Consulting in 2004, implementing ISO systems, handling incidents and investigations, and conducting risk assessments.

Ashley Grow attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal from 2003 to 2006, where they received a Degree in Environmental Management with a field of study in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). From 2008 to 2010, they pursued a Diploma in Risk Management (RiskMaQ) with a focus on HSE at IRCA Global. In 2013 and 2014, they completed a Management Diploma/Program in Business Administration and General Management at Sasol (Louie Allen/Global Learning).
