Sara Hwang has had a diverse range of work experiences. Sara started their career as a Pharmacy Intern at Mass General Hospital, where they worked in the Sterile Products Department. Sara then moved on to Cambridge Health Alliance, where they continued as a Pharmacy Intern in the Outpatient Pharmacy. Sara also gained experience as a Pharmacy Intern in the Inpatient Pharmacy at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

In 2018, Sara joined Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals as a Postdoctoral Medical Affairs Fellow and also worked as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Northeastern University. Sara then became the US Medical Affairs Manager at Amryt Pharma plc, where they worked until 2023. Currently, Sara is a Senior Manager and Global Medical Affairs Lead - Medical Insights at Sarepta Therapeutics.

Sara Hwang pursued a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from 2012 to 2017 at Northeastern University. Then, they obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Northeastern University in 2018.
