Arthur Kamp has extensive work experience as an economist in the financial industry. Arthur began their career at HSBC Investment Bank South Africa in 1995 and worked there as an economist until 2005. After leaving HSBC, they joined African Alliance South Africa as an economist for a brief period before moving to Sanlam Investments. At Sanlam, they initially worked as an investment economist from 2005 to 2018, before being promoted to the position of Chief Economist in November 2018.
Arthur Kamp completed their education at the University of Stellenbosch, where they obtained a B.Econ degree in Economics from 1985 to 1987. Arthur then pursued an Hons-B.Econ degree in Economics from the same university from 1988 to 1989. Finally, they attended the University of London, where they earned an MSc. in Financial Economics from 1994 to 1995.
