Dr. Christian J. Rubalcaba currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services at San Mateo-Foster City School District, a position held since July 2018, alongside previous roles including Director of School Leadership, Middle School Principal, and Elementary School Principal. A Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2024, Rubalcaba also served as Vice Principal at Franklin-McKinley School District from July 2017 to June 2018 and as an Instructional Coach and Bilingual Teacher at San José Unified School District from July 2010 to June 2017. Earlier experience includes participation as a Corps Member with Teach For America and a Graduate Research Assistant at Harvard University. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University, a Master of Liberal Arts in History from Harvard University, and National Board Certification Support Program in Literacy from Stanford University, along with an Elementary Teaching Credential from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology from Purdue University.
