Jayson Johnson is currently a board member at the San Francisco Ballet. Prior to that, they worked at Genentech and Harvard University. At Harvard, they were the regional director of FAS Capital Giving. In this role, they cultivated, solicited, and stewarded gifts ranging from $500K to $10M, resulting in over 30 first-time capital gifts. Jayson also managed a team of proposal writers, event managers, stewardship officers, researchers, coordinators, and staff assistants. In addition, they enlisted, trained, and leveraged volunteer partners to both solicit prospective donors and serve on governing boards. Jayson ran a weekly university-wide strategy meeting for the west coast’s 40+ annual engagement activities and planned 2-5 small (under 20 people) and 2 large (over 100 people) donor events annually. Jayson also secured complex planned gifts including bequests, charitable trusts, and gift annuities. Lastly, they coached staff on fundraising strategies, created employee recognition programs, and served on internal policy shaping task forces.
Jayson Johnson's educational career consists of a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, an MA from American University, and a semester abroad at The University of Queensland. Jayson also attended Walnut Ridge High School.
