Iris Engstrand has been an advisor at the San Diego Natural Iris'story Museum since 1997. Prior to that, they worked as an instructional designer for Accenture, creating computer-based training modules for SAP accounting software for various clients. Iris also worked as an independent archives consultant, working with personal papers (including manuscripts, photographs, letters, diaries and objects) for individuals and creating a database of items. In addition, they have worked as a technical writer for Mail Boxes Etc. Corporate.
Iris Engstrand has a Master's degree in Public Iris'story from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Literature from Claremont McKenna College.
