Stacey is affectionately known as “the rock” of the Community Impact division which includes the Community and Volunteer Engagement departments. Stacey's teams engage the community with volunteer opportunities, adult and youth classes, Pet-Assisted Therapy interactions and resources that support them keeping their pets. Her nickname comes from the unwavering support and expert guidance she provides to her team, as well as her reputation for never missing a deadline or detail!
Stacey has been with San Diego Humane Society since 2002 starting as a part-time educator at the previous Sherman Street location. Prior to this, she was an educator in early childhood and elementary education in the Seattle and Sacramento areas.
Stacey holds a multiple subject teaching credential for the state of California. She earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a master's in teaching with a focus on humane and character education from Webster University. She is currently completing University of San Diego's Nonprofit Management Certificate program.
Stacey also serves as a board advisor to the Association of Professional Humane Educators, participates on various committees for The Association of Animal Welfare Advancement and is a board member for a local charter school.
