David Parry currently serves as a Venture Partner at Samsara BioCapital since October 2021. Prior to this role, David held various positions at GSK, including Business Development Director for the West Coast and Executive Director & Entrepreneur-in-Residence within Discovery Partnerships with Academia from March 2013 to October 2021. Experience also includes serving as Director of Biology at Portola Pharmaceuticals and as a Senior Research Fellow at Merck, where David was part of the Palo Alto site senior management team and managed an oncology discovery group. Earlier in their career, David worked as a Research Fellow and Senior Principal Scientist at Schering Plough Biopharma and DNAX Research Institute. David Parry earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Oncology and Mammalian Cell Cycle Control from the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London and a B.Sc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Applied Molecular Biology from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
