Ashley Edes has a diverse range of work experience. Ashley started their career as a Biology Teacher at the Granville Exempted Village School District from 2007 to 2012. Ashley then worked at The Ohio State University, first as a Graduate Teaching Associate (2012-2017), then as a Graduate Teaching Fellow (2016-2017), and finally as a Presidential Fellow (2017-2018). After that, they joined the Smithsonian Institution as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2018 to 2020. Currently, they are working as an Animal Welfare Scientist at the Saint Louis Zoo since March 2020.
Ashley Edes earned their Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Science Education from Ohio University from 2003 to 2007. Ashley then pursued a Master's Degree in Earth Science Teacher Education at Wright State University from 2009 to 2010. Ashley further continued their education at The Ohio State University, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physical and Biological Anthropology from 2012 to 2018.
