Marta Maciel is a business owner of AquaThreads, specializing in handmade diving headbands, established in April 2024. Currently, Marta also serves as a PhD student in Systems Neuroscience at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour, where a Python-based pipeline was developed to analyze postural adjustments in mice. Previously, Marta worked as a research assistant at the Champalimaud Foundation, integrating a project plan into a successful ERC Grant application while also conducting data collection and analysis. Marta's academic background includes a Master's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a specialization in Neurobiology from Universidade de Coimbra, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from UCL.
