Gilbert Palter is the Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of EdgeStone Capital Partners, an alternative asset management firm. He is also the Chairman and CEO of EGADS Group, which invests in public and private companies. Mr. Palter was the founding Chairman of Aurigen Capital Limited, a Bermuda-based life reinsurer, leading the $500 million initial funding. He is the former Chairman of Affinion Group Holdings Inc., which operated Affinion Benefits Group, LLC, a U.S. accidental death and dismemberment business. Over his 30-year career as a private equity investor, he has served on numerous private company boards and, oversaw EGADS Group’s investments on the public boards of Atlantic Power Corporation 2015-2021, RPX Corporation from 2016-2018, and Tenerity Group Inc. since 2017. In his early career, Mr. Palter worked at Morgan Stanley, McKinsey & Company, Clairvest Group, and Smith Barney.
Mr. Palter received a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar and the winner of the John L Loeb Fellowship in Finance, and he earned a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Economics at the University of Toronto, where he was the Gold Medalist in his class. He was a 2003 recipient of “Canada’s Top 40 Under 40” award, and a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year® Award 2006.
