Tony is a highly experienced airfield manager and supervisor, with a long history of success in both the private and public sectors. Tony began their career in 1997 with the U.S. Army Air Traffic Services, where they quickly rose through the ranks to become First Sergeant. In this role, Tony was responsible for managing and supervising air traffic control operations, flight operations, airfield management and maintenance, and aviation fuel operations. Tony was also responsible for training and certifying more than 300 personnel, enhancing safety for over 828,798 military and civilian aircraft movements.
In 2003, Tony left the Army to join KBR, an international engineering, construction and services company. Tony served as Airfield Manager for KBR's operations at Udairi Army Airfield in Kuwait. In this role, Tony was responsible for developing policies and procedures that enhanced the functional services of the airfield. Tony also trained and certified more than 300 personnel, enhancing safety for over 828,798 military and civilian aircraft movements. In 2008, Tony's efforts were recognized when the airfield received an overall 97% rating during the Army's Aviation Resource Management Survey inspection.
Tony currently works for Safir Consulting, where they provide technical leadership and guidance to clients in the aviation industry. Tony is also a certified flight instructor and has been instrumental in developing new safety procedures for private pilots.
Tony's educational career includes a Bachelor's degree in Professional Aeronautics/Airport Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as a degree in General Education from Fayetteville Tech CC. Tony also has a degree in Drafting and Mechanical Drawing from Hartnell College.
