Yitao Li has had a varied career since 2010. ​Yitao began as a Grader and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Mathematics at New York University in 2010. In 2012, they worked as a Web Developer for nPario, a Summer Intern for Standard & Poor's, and a Research Assistant for the University of Washington. In 2013, they were a Student Intern for Microsoft Research Connections, where they participated in KDD Cup 2013 Track 1 and worked on machine learning and information retrieval algorithms related to Microsoft Academic Search. In 2014, they worked as a Software Engineer for both eBay and Facebook. From 2020 to present, they have been a Software Engineer for RStudio PBC, where they were the maintainer of sparklyr and worked with an active and diverse open-source community to ship multiple versions of sparklyr. ​Yitao is currently a Software Engineer at SafeGraph, where they build truth sets for machine learning, deep learning, and AI.
Yitao Li obtained a B.A. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Mathematics from New York University in 2012. ​Yitao then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington Tacoma in 2013. Additionally, Li has obtained several certifications, including a Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera in 2022, and four Codility Golden Awards from 2021 to 2019.
