Van Wilberding has over 28 years of work experience, beginning in 1993 as a Soldier in the US Army. In 2000, they became a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State, and in 2006 they were a Senior Manager for The Coca-Cola Company. In 2014, they took on the role of Chief Security Officer & Chief Risk Officer - Nigeria for Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, and in 2017 they became a Board Member and Co-Founder of Safe-esteem. Most recently, in 2021, they were appointed Global Head of Safety & Security for SOS Children's Villages International.
Van Wilberding received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The George Washington University between 1988 and 1992. Van then went on to earn a Master of International Affairs from Columbia | SIPA between 1997 and 1999, with a focus on International Security Policy. Lastly, they obtained a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Georgia State University - J. Mack Robinson College of Business between 2008 and 2009, with a focus on General Management.
