Sonia Lewis is currently a secretary at SAFE. Sonia has previously worked as a lead teacher and program coordinator at the Sacramento City Unified School District and as a lead teacher and program coordinator at Sac-City Unified School District. Sonia has also worked as an educator in a variety of school environments and has taken on extra school responsibilities such as coach, club advisor, advisory committee member, parent liaison, tutor and collaborative projects coordinator. As Lead Teacher, they were responsible for coordinating teacher input and resources for a specialized career Academy. As Program Coordinator, they were responsible for organizing events, trips, speakers, volunteer events and hours, partnering with various community agencies, maintaining grant documents, and managing grant funds and budgets. Working with and for a specialized career Academy, Sonia was reponsible for producing reports and gather data for administrators, district leaders and state educational agencies.

Sonia Lewis has a Teacher Credential from San Francisco State University in Education, a BA from Spelman College in Sonia'story, and a Bachelor of Arts from Luther Burbank High School in Sonia'story.
