Patrick Weinkam has had a varied and impressive career. Patrick began as a Research Assistant at Nektar Therapeutics in 2001 and then worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2002. In 2003, they became a Graduate Student and Lecturer at the University of California at San Diego and in 2009, they became a Postdoc and World Traveler at the same university. Patrick then became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco where they worked with Pfizer and several groups at UC San Francisco on cutting edge drug design projects. In 2014, they took on the role of Lead Engineer, Data Science - Applied Intelligence at IO Data Centers, BASELAYER. Here, they architected and managed big data infrastructure and developed business intelligence software. In 2016, they took on the role of Co-Founder, Data Science and Engineering at Nooklyate, a software consulting company. Two years later, in 2018, they became Co-Founder at CYTK, a virtual assistant technology company. Most recently, in 2020, they became Head of Data Science at RunBuggy.

Patrick Weinkam received their Ph D in Chemistry/Computational Biology/Physics from UC San Diego in 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a BS in Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics from UC Santa Barbara in 2003.
