Nikolaos Abatzis has over 24 years of experience in software engineering and architecture. Nikolaos began their career in 1997 as a Software Engineer at CA, Inc., where they were responsible for sales presentations, demos, and pilots. In 2001, they moved to Unisys where they worked as a Software Architect on the IRS mid-tier modernization effort. In 2007, they joined Merlin International as a Sr. Solutions Architect at a contract with the Veterans Affairs in Washington DC. From 2008-2010, they served as Team Lead/Sr. Software Engineer at CSC and then Lead Solutions Architect at New River Systems. In 2012, they became Sr. Software Architect at KEYW Corporation, where they were responsible for architecting next generation systems in support of critical missions for the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. In 2021, they moved to Novetta as a S/W Architect/Engineer and then to Jacobs in 2022 as Chief Software Engineer. Currently, they work as Principal Software Engineer at Royce Geo.
Nikolaos Abatzis earned a Masters in Software Engineering from George Mason University between 2005 and 2007. Nikolaos also obtained an MSc in Knowledge-Based Systems from Heriot-Watt University between 1986 and 1987.
