Simon Creer is an experienced communications professional, currently serving as the Director of Communications at the Royal Town Planning Institute since April 2021. Previously, Simon held the same role at the Institution of Civil Engineers from March 2017 to April 2021, overseeing the institution's external communications and acting as head of profession for communications across twelve regions. Simon's career includes positions such as Media Relations Manager for the Russell Group of Universities and Press Secretary at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, where responsibilities included managing media engagement for the Business Secretary. Additional experience encompasses various roles in journalism, including crime reporter and general reporter for Associated Newspapers (Ireland) and the Irish Daily Mail. Simon holds an MPhil in Literature, Journalism, and Philosophy from the University of Glasgow.
