Parastou Donyai's work experience includes holding the role of Head of Pharmacy Teaching Department and Professor of Behavioural Pharmacy at King's College London since October 2022. They are also currently serving as the Chief Scientist at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society since June 2022. Prior to these positions, Donyai worked at the University of Reading, where they served as Director of Pharmacy Practice and held various professor and lecturer roles from 2008 to 2022. They also worked as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at Kingston University / St George's University of London from 2003 to 2008. Donyai has additional experience as a Research Pharmacist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, a Quality Assurance and Inspection Manager at Crown Agents, a Research Pharmacist at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, and a Staff Editor at Pharmaceutical Press. Parastou Donyai earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from King's College London in the years 1990 to 1993. Parastou then pursued further education, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacy from the same institution between 1994 and 1998. In 1999 to 2000, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Pharmacotherapy from Aston University. Moving towards a different field of study, Parastou completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Research Methods from The Open University from 2005 to 2007. Finally, they attained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Psychology from The Open University between 2008 and 2014.
