Joel Armstrong has a diverse work experience spanning various engineering roles. Joel started their career at De Vere Slaley Hall as a Sales Assistant from 2011 to 2012. Joel then worked as a Summer Engineering Placement at SCA - Hygiene and Forest Products Company in 2013. In 2015, they were a Student Engineer at IHC Engineering Business Ltd. Following this, they joined Turbo Power Systems as a Grid re-enforcement engineer for a brief period from February to May 2016. Joel then worked as a Graduate Electrical Engineer at Hoare Lea from September 2016 to September 2017. Since then, they have been associated with Royal IHC, where they have held multiple roles. Joel started as a Graduate Electrical Engineer from September 2017 to September 2018. Joel then progressed to the position of Electrical Design Engineer from September 2018 to January 2021, where they worked on projects such as the C486 SSB 550T Reel Lay System. Currently, Joel holds the position of Mechatronics Service Engineer at Royal IHC from January 2021 to present, and they have recently been promoted to the role of Lead Electrical Design Engineer.
Joel Armstrong's education history includes a Master of Science (MSc) in Renewable Energy from Newcastle University, which they completed from 2015 to 2016. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng Hons) in Electrical Engineering with Renewable Energy Studies from the University of Nottingham, between 2011 and 2015.
