Roland Mainz is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in embedded systems and identity management. Since July 2021, Roland has been a Software Engineer at Rovema GmbH, focusing on (embedded) Linux systems and custom PLCs for packaging machines. Prior to this, Roland served as a Senior Software Engineer at Eckelmann AG, working on customized ARM embedded systems. Roland's freelance work included consulting on Identity Management and LDAP, and a role at Red Hat as a Software Engineer specializing in Identity Management and Kerberos 5. Previously held positions include Lead Researcher at MAINZ & Partner - IT Consultants, Project Lead for shell projects at OpenSolaris.org, and Engineering roles at Sun Microsystems and X.org. Roland holds a degree from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, completed in 2006.
