Professor Mette Morsing, PhD, is head of the initiative for Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) based at the UN Global Compact office in New York, USA, since 2017.

Mette was a professor and MISTRA Chair of Sustainable Markets at Stockholm School of Economics, Executive Director of Mistra Centre for Sustainable Markets at Stockholm School of Economics (MISUM), and also taught sustainability management and corporate social responsibility in Executive Education and at PhD level. She was a professor at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), is founding director of the CBS Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, and has served as Academic Director for the CBS Sustainability Platform.

Mette’s research focuses on how strategic communication emerges as a governance mechanism in the interplay of internal and external stakeholders of organizations, especially in the context of corporate social responsibility. She has published extensively in international journals and books on these issues, and she has received awards and honors for her research.

Mette is a board member of the Impact Forum, the Academic Advisory Group, Nordic Group, the World Economic Forum, and the International Advisory Board of the Amsterdam School of Communication Research at Amsterdam University. In the past she has served as board member for the Melting Pot Foundation, LEGO Foundation, Danish Government Council on Responsible Business, European Academy of Business in Society, and several other councils and committees.
