Tom Lawrence is an experienced independent consultant specializing in local government finance and policy, currently offering services through TRL Insight since December 2015. In addition to consultancy, Tom serves as a Research Scholar at the Ronin Institute, focusing on fundamental mathematical physics, with publications and presentations at international conferences. Tom's diverse roles also include work as a dog walker and pet sitter, a heritage guide for Historic Stafford, and various freelance positions as an associate with organizations such as APSE, LG Futures, and LGiU, where contributions encompass policy briefings and training sessions in local government finance. Previously, Tom held a consultant position at Pragmatix Advisory and has extensive experience as a percussionist since 1998. Education includes a Ph.D. and M.Phys. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Southampton and the University of Exeter, respectively.
