Colin G Dix, IEng MIET, is a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer currently employed at Rolls-Royce SMR since November 2021 and at Rolls Royce Nuclear since April 2014. Dix has specialized in the design of Mechanical and Electrical Automated Sampling and Inspection equipment for the Structural Integrity Inspection of nuclear plant equipment and automated inspection equipment for dry nuclear fuel storage. Previous roles include Lead Electrical Engineer at Pennant Training Systems Limited, Electro/Mechanical Engineer at Rolls Royce Nuclear, and Head of Engineering & Design at ArmorWorks International Ltd, where Dix played a pivotal role in establishing the engineering department and achieving ISO9001 certification. With extensive expertise in electro-mechanical design across various industries, including military and nuclear sectors, Dix has consistently demonstrated a strong ability in project engineering and design. Education was completed at The Open University, further underpinning a solid foundation in engineering principles.
