Marios Anthimopoulos is an experienced data science professional currently serving as a Data Science Team Lead at Roche since January 2022. Previously, Marios held the same role at Frontiers from January 2018 to January 2022 and worked as a Data Scientist during that period. Marios began an academic career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bern from May 2012 to December 2017 and previously contributed to research projects as a Research Associate at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS" from March 2005 to June 2010, including projects such as Computer-Aided Semantic Annotation of Multimedia (CASAM) and Bootstrapping Ontology Evolution with Multimedia Information Extraction (BOEMIE). Marios also participated as a Research Assistant in the D-SCRIBE project at the National General Secretariat for Research and Technology. Marios holds a PhD in Extraction of Text from Images and Videos and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, both from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
