Ana Lucía Schmidt is a Senior Scientist at Roche since September 2020, specializing in Social Media Listening for patient-centric clinical research with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing and cohort detection. Prior to this role, Ana Lucía worked as a Researcher at Università Ca' Foscari Venezia from March 2018 to August 2020, contributing to projects focused on science communication, COVID disinformation, and migration narratives through data mining and sentiment analysis on various social media platforms. From November 2014 to March 2018, Ana Lucía was a PhD student at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, where research concentrated on quantitative analysis of news consumption and polarization on Facebook. Ana Lucía holds a PhD in Computational Social Science from IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca and an Engineering Degree in Computer Systems from Universidad Nacional del Sur.
