Maria Mottola is a highly experienced nonprofit leader, currently serving as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Nonprofit Practice since August 2023, where coaching and mentorship are provided to executive and middle management leaders. Mottola is also a Consultant/Researcher at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and holds strategic advisory roles at the Daphne Foundation and The Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock. Additionally, Mottola served as a Strategic Advisor for the Neighborhood Funders Group, was a Search Consultant for The Scherman Foundation, and spent nearly three decades as Executive Director of the New York Foundation. Mottola has academic experience as an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College and has been part of the Board of Advisors for the New American Leaders Project. Maria holds a Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, supplemented by artistic training from the Art Students League.
