Claudia Sievers is a Senior Scientific Officer at the Robert Koch Institute since March 2018, focusing on the development of an electronic reporting system for infectious diseases and surveillance of infectious diseases, including COVID-19. As a project manager, expertise includes laboratory support and staff training in developing countries related to diagnostics for highly pathogenic microorganisms and biosafety. Claudia also serves as a lecturer at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and has provided freelance consulting for study design and biosampling. Previous roles include Head of Laboratory at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, postdoctoral work at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and a visiting scientist position at Institut Curie. Claudia holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology, a Master's degree in Epidemiology from Berlin School of Public Health, and an EPIET degree in Applied Epidemiology from the European Center for Disease Control.
