Thabo T. has a strong and extensive work experience in the finance industry. Thabo currently holds the position of Head Institutional Sales Africa at Robeco, which they started in 2022. Before joining Robeco, Thabo worked at Citi for 11 years, where they started as the Director - Head of Investor Sales for South Africa and was later promoted to the role. At Citi, Thabo was responsible for providing financial solutions to various institutions, including banks, pension funds, and insurance companies. Prior to Citi, Thabo worked as an Associate Director - Head of SA Institutional Derivatives Sales at Macquarie Bank Ltd from 2008 to 2011. In this role, they oversaw a significant budget and played a crucial role in building up derivatives operations in Europe and Africa. Thabo's career started at Cadiz Securities in 1999, where they initially worked as an intern and quickly progressed to become a Director. Thabo also served as a member of the executive board and played a critical role in the company's success, particularly in driving transformation and leading the equity derivatives department. Throughout their career, Thabo has been recognized for their professional capabilities and industry reputation, including being ranked as the 2nd Derivative Analyst in a Financial Mail Survey.
Thabo T. began their education at Sciences Po Strasbourg in 1991, where they obtained a Diploma of French and Politics, focusing on French Studies. They then enrolled at the University of Reading in 1992 and pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, specializing in Law, and completed their undergraduate studies in 1996. In 1996, Thabo T. continued their legal education at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice, where they earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice by 1997. They then furthered their education at the ICMA Centre, University of Reading, starting in 1998 and concluding in 1999, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Finance, Regulation, and Risk Management.
