Erik Bevaart began their work experience in 1991 as an Analyst/Programmer at Neddata, Nedlloyd Computer Services. Erik then joined Oracle Nederland as a Consultant in Oracle technology, specializing in database and client software. In 1994, Erik became a Consultant at Dedicate BV, where they worked until 1996. Finally, Erik joined Robeco as a Lead Software Engineer, participating in the development of large and business-critical applications, as well as creating a Development Architecture for Oracle technology.

Erik Bevaart completed their VWO (pre-university education) at Blaise Pascal from 1984 to 1986. Erik then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Bedrijfskundige Informatica (Business Informatics) from 1986 to 1990 at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
