Alan Lock is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operations and strategic management across various sectors. Currently serving as Head of Operational Excellence at Maynard Leigh Associates since May 2022, Alan previously held the position of Director - Business Development and Operations at Icarus Originals, where co-founded a bespoke jewellery business and established export relationships internationally. Notable earlier roles include Head of Business Adoption and Head of Logistics at BT, where responsibilities encompassed UK and international logistics for a major division, and Head of Strategy for BT Group, where Alan contributed to operational and commercial strategies. Alan's background also includes leading the Polar Vision expedition, becoming the first visually impaired person to ski from Antarctica to the South Pole, and various managerial roles at HSBC and the Royal Navy, including operational improvements and marine engineering. Alan holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, among other qualifications.
